"It's over." the sandy blond man said bluntly.
"W-what?" you asked as tears begun to form in the corners of your big (e/c) eyes. You two were happily eating dinner at your apartment.
The American pushed up his glasses that had become askew. "I'm just not into you anymore," he rose from his chair and headed for the door. "to be honest, I never really was into you." and with those final heart crushing words, he left.
You and the American boy named Alfred have been dating for the past 2 years. Things have always gone so great! You loved him and he loved you. Or so you thought.
Now you sit in your chair. Too stunned to move or feel the hot tears running down your cheeks. What did you do? What happened to cause this?
Thousands of questions raced through your mind. You stood up and stumbled to your bedroom, flopped on the bed and cried your eyes out.
I closed _______'s door behind me and sank to the floor. I can't believe I actually broke up with her! Just because everyone else said she was an outcast and a loser. I let the words get to me. They said it would ruin my rep at school. They started to laugh at me for eating lunch with her, when I carried her books for her, or even when I talked to her.
_____ was always bullied at school. All she had to do was show up and someone would find something snide to say about her.
She lost her parents about a year ago too. So she started living on her own. We have been friends since we were kids. I remember when she used to smile so much. Now, it was rare to even see her grin.
I feel now, I have only made things worse.
I still love her.
I'm really worried about ______ now. She hasn't shown up for school in a week. I was changing for my baseball game when one of my teammates clapped my shoulder.
"So, you finally ditched that dork! I'm proud of ya!" he said laughing. I ground my teeth in annoyance.
"I can't believe still that you went out with her! I guessing it was all out of pity, right Al-" I cut him off by slamming him into the locker.
"Shut up." I growled. They all looked at me shocked. I never got angry at them no matter what. I grabbed his collar and stormed out of the locker room.
"Vhere are you going?!" called Gilbert. The white haired male had been one of the only ones to approve of mine and ______'s relationship.
"Fixing my mistake." I called back running down the hall.
I looked back to see the Prussian man smile at me.
I quickly ran home to find my older brother Arthur. He would know what to do.
I burst through the front door and found him in the kitchen with a tea kettle in his hand.
"Dude! I need your help!" I said coming closer to him.
He sighed before answering. "What did you break now Alfred?"
I shook my head. "No! I didn't break anything! I miss _______. I didn't want to break up with her. What do I do?" I said almost in tears just from thinking about her.
Arthur and ______ were good friends. They were in book club together. He's the one who introduced us in the first place.
"Have you heard from her lately? She hasn't even been at school." I say sadly.
Arthur looked at me for a minute then rolled his green eyes. "Why do you care so much about her?" I stared at him shocked.
"What?" I asked in disbelief.
"Why do you care? She is the nerdy kid a school and has no friends. She doesn't play sports and is almost as quiet as Matthew. She isn't worth your time-"
I punched him.
"Shut up! How dare you say that about ______?! She's the kindest and smartest person I know! So what if she doesn't play sports or is quiet! And screw my rep! And she does have friends! She has you and Matt!" I breathed hard before I passed out from yelling that in one breath. Wow. I have never yelled so much in one day. Unless it's the fun kind of yelling.
Arthur looked at me and smiled. "If you never really cared, would you have defended her? Would you have stuck up for her like that? I don't think so."
I blinked bewilderedly. "When did I ever tell you I didn't care about her?"
"You didn't. ______ did. She called me about an hour after you broke up with her." Arthur said calmly. He rose off the marble floor and went to the freezer pulling out an ice pack and held it to his purpling eye. "Bloody hell you hit hard." he mumbled.
"Wait, she called you?! Is she okay?!" I shouted in panic.
Arthur sighed and shook his head. "You hurt her Alfred Jones." he said sternly. He walked over to me and pushed me out the front door. "Now go fix this wanker!"
And so he ran, but not without making a quick stop first.
That's basically all you have done since Alfred broke up with you. Why did he anyway? Was he worried about his rep? Probably. 'No one wants to date a loser like me' you thought to yourself.
You sit on your old worn couch. Knees to your chest as more sobs rack through you. At this point you couldn't care less about school or social life. Not that you really had a social life.
You hadn't eaten much in the past week. Some fish crackers here and there, but nothing else. You had no appetite for anything. The thought of food made you sick to your stomach. Since the break up, you took one shower and that was this morning. You thought 'it's kinda cold out for today, maybe if I sit out there with wet hair long enough I freeze to death.'
As you sat there is a sad silence, a loud knock arose from the door. You groaned and shouted. "Go away! No one's home!"
"Sorry babe. It's me so you know that's not gonna happen!" your (e/c) eyes widened. Alfred? What was he doing here?
"Oh in that case, GO AWAY!!" You shouted at the door and threw a book at it. You heard him sigh. Then a loud crash boomed throughout your apartment. Your head quickly (and dizzily) shot up as you watched your door fly off the hinges. "WHAT THE HELL?!" you screamed.
Alfred casually walked through you front door and saw you. His baby blue eyes widened with sadness. You were much thinner than before. You were also paler too. Your (h/l) (h/c) was a mess and your once sparkly (e/c) eyes now dull with puffy redness.
"_-____?!" he asked in disbelief. Had he really done this to you?
You sniffled. "What do you want Alfred?" your eyes teary.
Next thing you knew you were engulfed in a bone crushing hug. "I'm so sorry." Alfred whispered holding you tighter. "I lied to you. I love you. I love you more than anything. I was a dumbass and forgot how much you really mean to me. I have always care but I let my ego get in the way. I want you back ______." He lifted up your tear stained face to his. "Please."
You completely broke down. You latched yourself to him and cried. He wrapped his arms tighter around you and kissed your forehead.
"Shhh, it's okay now _______." he cooed in your ear but you shook your head.
"Who do I know that you won't leave me again?" you said, tears streaming down your face. Alfred reached in to his back pocket and pulled out a small velvet box. "Aren't you a little young to be proposing?" you sniffled. He chuckled and open the box and pulled out a small ring and slid it own your ring finger.
"It's nothing like that. It's a promise ring. This means that no matter what, I from now on promise to love you and stay with you." He pulled you to him and placed a passionate kiss on your cold lips. You quickly returned it and wrapped your arms around his neck.
"I love you." You said when you finally broke apart.
"I love you too." Alfred said resting his forehead on yours.
He lifted your hand to his and kissed the ring. "I promise."
"You owe me a new door."
